The parish church of San Pedro, whose construction date, 1502, is written on an inscription on the main facade is to be found in the town´s typically Andalucian plaza

The Ermita (chapel) of Virgen de los Remedios, nestled in the hillside, occupies the site of an old mosque and is dated in the 16th century, but the actual building is of the 18th century From here there is a splendid panorama of the valley.

Close to the Ermita is the old castle that dates from the 10th century and is now being partially restored

Among other notable buildings is the house called González Narín, and among the public works, a fountain which could be from the 16th or 17th century

There is also the iron bridge that links the two towns

The celebration from 22nd to 26th April honouring the patron saint', Nuestra Señora de los Remedios

In mid May the patron Saint of the Isidore Farmer – San Isidro Labrador – is honoured.in Cartama Estacion

From the 24th to the 26th of September is the traditional cattle fair.

The spicy soup, pork products (a pitufo with carne mechada makes a great breakfast), loin in lard in the winter, and gazpacho (cold soup) in the summer
