About Andalucia
Andalucia´s rich and colourful history has made it the rich and colourful place in which to live – even the name has its origins from the time of the Moorish occupation (people from North Africa made up of a mixture of Berbers and Arabs) ´al Andalus´.

Today it is the largest of Spain´s 19 autonomous regions and is made up of eight provinces: Almeria, Cadiz, Cordoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaen, Malaga and Seville.

It used to be one of the poorest regions of Spain but many things have changed over recent years and they continue to change for the better. Of course tourism has been key in these changes and that, combined with a desire to save the many historical attractions by locals and visitors alike, is a great way to make sure that we can all enjoy beautiful Andalucia for years to come.

The attractions are much more than kilometres of sandy beaches and an amazing climate! There are the culture and nature elements, unbelievably improving with the opening of more museums (Picasso for one in Malaga) - to add to the famous sites such as the Alhambra Palace in Granada and theMezquita/Cathedral in Cordoba. There are also exhibitions of excavations of Roman ruins, conservation and protection of the nature via the Natural Parks plus outdoor pursuit opportunities to rival any country. Then there are the people and their lifestyle – their openness and warmth, the fiestas, the dance and not to forget the wide variety of delicious, fresh and healthy food and wine - that should not be missed!

Getting here is easier and cheaper than ever – especially via the international airport in Malaga that is currently undergoing a major expansion! Travelling around is also no problem whether via car, coach or the amazing train service (the new routes for high speed AVE train are close to completion and will means that travelling between Malaga and Madrid could be as short as 2 hours and 15 minutes).

Andalucia is a place that has something for everyone no matter what your wishes and hobbies maybe – golf, spas, climbing, cycling, walking, history, eating & drinking, art, music, nightlife or maybe even buying a home and living a varied and happy life in the sun!
